"little duke" by Rokotov

I am reading a book in Russian about Russian Empress Ekaterina the Great by a historian Olga Chaikovskaya. Looking on the Internet for the portret of of Ekaterina's son by the artist Rokotov (this portret is described in the book) I found another beautiful one - of the "little duke" Bobrinsky. What a wonderful portret! I can't take my eyes off this art work.

mirage of the city

This picture was taken by my friend Herb Burns through the airplane window when he was landing in Moscow. I love it. Salvador Dali is taking a brake!

This mirage I have pictured in the desert from the Pilot Mountain. You can see downtown Winston-Salem where I live :)

Happy Birthday at Chinqua-Penn

We went to Chinqua Penn plantation for my birthday. I loved it there! A piece of Europe on American land. Thank you, Beatice Schoellkopf Penn ( i have visited her grave on the property). Her maiden name sounds very Russian, but the tour guide could not make any 'Russian' connections.

Hawaiian waves

Planning our trip to Hawaii I run across these amazing pictures of Hawaiian waves by a photographer by the name Little. His first name is Clark. I don't know how he is still alive doing such pictures!

i also like another picture where the girl is standing in the field and two elephant are behind her, but i could not find that one online (saw it in a magazine)
